By downloading or using the Family Ping application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. Family Ping is intended for adults. It is not for use by anyone under 18, and it must not be used to collect information about a child.
Family Ping is a tool for consensual location sharing between two adults. It has two roles: a Family member, whose phone shares information, and a Trusted helper, who receives it. The two phones are joined by a pairing code the Family member generates on their own device. A pairing code can be used once and expires ten minutes after it is created. A Family member has one active Trusted helper at a time.
Once paired, the App can do the following and nothing more:
The App does not offer continuous live tracking, covert monitoring, location history, advertising, or any sale of personal data.
FAMILY PING IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES (911, 112, etc.).
You acknowledge that the App depends on various factors outside our control, including internet connectivity, GPS signal, mobile operating system background policies, and manufacturer-specific battery optimization.
We do not guarantee live updates or 100% notification delivery. The App is a "best-effort" safety tool.
You agree to use Family Ping only with the explicit consent of the person whose phone shares information. The App may not be used for stalking or harassment, or to collect anyone's location without their knowledge and agreement. Violation of this policy will result in immediate action.
The App is for adults. You represent that you are at least 18 years old and that every person using a paired device is also at least 18. The App must not be used to collect information about a child, and location must only be shared by an adult who consents to that sharing on their own device.
Family member: Responsible for ensuring the App has the necessary system permissions (e.g., Location set to "Always" where supported).
Trusted helper: Responsible for reading alerts and taking appropriate action.
You can delete your account from inside the App at any time. Open Settings and choose to delete your account. It happens straight away, it cannot be undone, and it ends these Terms between you and us. There is no request to raise and no one to ask.
You can also stop sharing without deleting anything, by unlinking the two phones or by turning off the location permission in your phone's own settings.
We may end or suspend access where the App is used in breach of section 5, in particular where it is used to track a person who has not agreed to it.
We may update these Terms as the App changes. The version number and date at the top of this page always identify the current version, and only the current version is published. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms. A change that materially reduces your rights will be notified in the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Family Ping and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the App.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
